Nilsson Architects was established by Klas Nilsson in 1975 and has developed a reputation for sympathetically restoring traditional buildings and converting them to prime residential developments.
We embrace the qualities that these traditional buildings bring with their imposing facades, large windows and generously proportioned rooms, high ceilings and intricate detailing - qualities not found in modern developments. Having learned the importance of these qualities in traditional buildings, we aim to incorporate them into all our projects, whether they be new-build or works to listed buildings.
We celebrate the contrast between old and new, the ability to integrate modern comforts into the traditional context in such a way as not to compete with the architecture. We take great pride in creating architecture that is understated, measured and considered.
Nilsson Architects forms one part of the trio of companies that make Northacre PLC, Northacre as the Development Managers and our main client and Intarya, our in-house Interior Designers.
In 1995 Nilsson Architects received their first award for the restoration of Observatory Gardens. Following this the practice's achievements have further been recognised with numerous awards for its buildings and contribution to architecture.
